I've just popped onto Facebook and have seen some pictures of Amanda's new baby Grace.
She is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!! Loads of black hair. I've sat there with tears streaming down my face. Kept turning the laptop towards my husband so he could see her.
Amanda looks so happy, seen pictures of Amanda's children and husband holding her.
It's made my day!!!!!

I agree Paula! The baby is so adorable, and it's lovely to see the photos of her with each member of the family. It made my day too, they all look so happy. I want one!

I know I want one as well. I've got two daughters, one living in Gibraltar, she's got two children 5 and nearly 7, so they are past the baby stage. Don't think that she will have anymore, but I can hope. My other daughter is more of a career girl, she's 33 now, think she would have to find a steady man first. But I do want a baby in the family. Do you think that at 53 I'm too old???????

The photos are lovely, and brought a tear to my eye. I too would have loved to have had another baby, but it was not to be. Paula are you serious, do you really want to try for another baby? I did hear of an Indian woman who had a baby in her 70's with IVF, now that really is pushing the limit.
love,

I would have loved another too Barbara but it wasn't to be. Guess we'll just have too wait for the grandchildren now. We can be surrogate grandparents to little Grace, she is adorable, I'd love a cuddle! Doreen xx

Julie you made me laugh out loud with the.........Nah-go for it girl!!!!!
Don't worry folks I'm not thinking about having one...........I just want a baby in the family. They are so lovely I just want to have one to cuddle.
I always Skype my daughter Julie (the one that lives in Gibraltar) at the weekends. I must of spent an hour on Saturday talking to her and blowing kisses to my babies out there.
Julie rang last night because Paris (shes 5) wanted to see her Nana on the on-queueter (thats whats she calls the laptop). So we skyped each other again and Paris kept saying how much she misses me and kept asking 'Are you coming tomorrow Nana?' When it was time to go we said what we always say to one another. I told her that I loved her more than all the tea and China and all the fishes in the sea. She always replies with I love you more than a sparkley heart and a sparkley star. Yesterday it was a shinny sparkley heart and star.
When it was time to switch off skype, her little face started to crumble and she cried. Me trying my hardest to fight my tears back, telling her I will see her soon. It's so heartbreaking.

AW thank you Paula for such a sweet post.
Grace really has brought us so many graces and blessings- we do just stare at her endlessly and I cannot bear to be parted from her..ie in the other room!
Interestingly one of the discussions I had with the midwives was about the various complications that are now ever present that were not there 20 years ago fo pregnant ladies. One of them is the older age of pregnant women nowadays and she was telling me they had had a 52year old Mam with twins recently- very high risk and dangerous though, and of course conceived using IVF (which can bring complications too).
Also women are having babies with far more serious problems than they used to- like heart problems and illnesses.
It was interesting as she was saying their job has changed so so much now.
Will post photos.
Love, Amanda
